Campaign for Tomorrow

Shaping What’s Next with the Campaign for Tomorrow

These are imperative initiatives, and must continue. But because our job is not yet done, we must also look to how we can Shape What’s Next. The Campaign For Tomorrow will fund the necessary next step toward a cure – translational projects needed to move science from the labs, to the patients. This new Translational Program will support the innovative breakthroughs from the lab, as they move into patient clinical trials. These projects are essential in moving progress forward. But they also require novel ideas, increased personnel, and imperative patient support.

The Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation has had two primary funding initiatives over the years.

The first, is to support the education and careers of young students and scientists. We believe that supporting students who wish to pursue a career in the rare diseases of muscular dystrophy is integral to making a future free of Muscular Dystrophy possible. We support undergraduate students and PHD trainees, so that when the time comes to decide a career – they choose Muscular Dystrophy. The more great minds pursuing a cure for MD, the better.

Our second initiative is to support the scientists working in the lab to find a cure. Since 2016, donors to the Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation have supported over 25 scientists and their labs. These projects have led to even more innovative ideas, to larger grants from the NIH, CDC, and MDA, and to remarkable breakthroughs.

What is Translational Research?

The process of translating scientific discoveries and insights from the lab, into practical applications that directly benefit human health.

Our Campaign for Tomorrow will fund this new initiative, in addition to what we are already doing. As we reach for progress, our initiatives must grow, our passion must become even more relentless, and our dreams for those living with MD become bigger and bolder.

With immense gratitude, we thank Mark & Carol Moeller and Chip & Mary Michel for their leadership as Founding Donors. With their support, and other early pledges, we have confirmed over $528,000 in pledges for the “Campaign for Tomorrow”!

We hope you will join this Campaign for Tomorrow and help Shape What’s Next for those living with muscular dystrophy in Minnesota.
