Cause to Cook for a Cure home parties are a great way to celebrate and gather with friends while raising money for an important cause. Whether hosting an elaborate dinner party, backyard bonfire or wine tasting, a Cause to Cook for a Cure home party is an easy and fun way to support the Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation’s mission to fight Muscular Dystrophy through research, education, advocacy and service. All money raised by the parties will help support the Greg Marzolf Jr. Training Program at the University of Minnesota’s Paul and Sheila Wellstone MD Center.
How do I host a party?
You can host a fundraising party by contacting us at foundation@gregmarzolfjr.org. The Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation will provide you with a packet of materials including party invitations and information on the Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation. If you choose to host a party, you would underwrite the party costs as you would with any personal party. You may either encourage guests to contribute to the Greg Marzolf Jr. Foundation by asking for a freewill offering or you may “charge” guests a donation fee to attend. Both options have been successful in the past. You can decide to host the party on your own or with friends and the location is also up to the host.
Does it have to be a formal party?
No. A Cause to Cook for a Cure home party is a gathering of any type for family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors and could be anything from a cocktail party to an outdoor BBQ, a Christmas party, or a game night party. The theme of the party is entirely up to the host.
Can I really make a difference?
Yes! We have had great success with Cause to Cook for a Cure home parties because they draw upon the passion, creativity and generosity of the hosts. Any money raised support critical MD research happening at the University of MN’s MD Center.
